Sorry

At first, Vitani is snarky and a bit rude to the pridelanders. Tiifu and Zuri try to befriend her, mainly Tiifu. Zuri didn’t particularly care for the new additions to the pride, but acted civil for the sake of keeping the peace.

One day Vitani harshly snaps at Tiifu and actually manages to hurt her feelings, shocking the slim lioness. Tiifu’s eyes grow wet as an upset expression crosses her face. She turns around wordlessly and runs away.

“Wait, I-” “Tiifu wait-!” Vitani and Zuri call out at the same time to no avail.

Zuri then turns to the other lioness and gets in her face, angrily snarling that Tiifu had only wanted to be friends. She then goes on to say how she couldn’t see what her friend saw in Vitani and that she was clearly not worthy of being anyone’s friend. The angry lioness growls for her to never speak to her or her friend again.

Vitani stood her ground in the face of the other lioness’s anger, her exterior showing no weakness. But once Zuri had left, Vitani had felt a twinge of guilt. Her annoyance hadn’t called for that sort of response. Yeah, she wanted to be left alone by those haughty pridelanders, but not like that.

The guilty feeling slowly grows over the next few days until it gets unbearable for the lioness. She decides for once to swallow her pride and approach Tiifu with an apology. She finds Tiifu with The Queen and Zuri, laughing at something the three were talking about.

Vitani clears her throat and gruffly asks if she could speak to Tiifu. The Queen frowns worriedly and Zuri glares at her hatefully.

Tiifu has a stony look on her face before asking “What is it?”

Struggling with herself, debating whether or not this apology was worth debasing herself in front of two others the apology wasn’t meant for. Vitani gathers herself, inhaling then exhaling to relieve some of her tension before giving her apology. By the time she is done, The Queen has a small smile on her face and Zuri’s glare had fades into a mellower expression. Tiifu herself happily accepts Vitani’s apology. She asks Vitani if she wants to come with them on a hunt. Vitani declines, causing Tiifu’s expression to fall a bit, but gruffly says that she would try to go on the next hunt with them. Tiifu and The Queen both smiles at that, while Zuri looks away in silence.

“Talk to you later then?” Tiifu says with a small amount of hesitance, a hopeful look in her eyes.

“.....Yeah.” Vitani agrees, feeling awkward as the center of the other lioness’s attention. She turns around and walks away, feeling better than she had in days.
